Lowel "Bud"  Paxon

CEO and Chairman of West Palm Beach based Paxson Communications Corporation, is a media industry pioneer. Mr. Paxson's crowning achievements during more than 40 years in broadcasting include the creation of Home Shopping Network and a new family entertainment network, PAX TV. The sale of HSN in 1990 and more recently the sale of a large group of radio stations including stations in the Orlando market, cleared the way for the highly significant launch of PAX TV on August 31, 1998. PAX TV is the nation's seventh broadcast network airing on the nation's largest group of owned and operated television stations, including WCPX TV 56 in Orlando. The program line up includes the highly acclaimed “Touched By An Angel and other top family entertainment such as “Promised Land” and “Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman.” Among his honors, Mr. Paxson is holder of the Florida Broadcaster of the Year Award, Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the American Free Enterprise Award.
